Join in the fun of an upcoming event benefiting the Covenant House Clothing Closet.-- a fashion and variety show.
The event will feature Charleston-area clergy who have selected thematic clothing items from Covenant House’s Clothing Closet.
Sponsored by Charleston Interdenominational Council for Social Concerns (CICSC) and Covenant House, this event will be held in the Columbia Gas auditorium located at their headquarters between Verizon and the University of Charleston on MacCorkle Avenue in Kanawha City.
The 2007 event was a huge success. Over 300 people were in attendance, over $6,500 was raised for the Clothing Closet, and over 1,000 new pair of socks and underwear was donated. This event is an innovative and entertaining way for your congregants to support this critical social service. Event goals include:
- Generating much-needed funding through ticket sales;
- Increasing clothing donations;
- Inter-faith fun with fashion, entertainment, and refreshments; and
- Heightening awareness among the faith community regarding our year-round need for clothing donations.
